I know there’s three cars in the picture, your choices are the two in front: The Lamborghini Espada, and the Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 for a euphoric tour of America (not counting Alaska and Hawaii). Which will you take?

The answer for me is obvious:

Kinja'd!!!

I’ll take the weird Lambo with the aircraft cockpit.

Lamborghini is the only logical answer. A road trip in it would be rad.

I actually like *some of* the looks of the Fezzer more, but the Lamborghini looks more *fun*, visually speaking, and it also seems like it would schlep cross-country trip supplies better and be more comfortable. No-brainer.

I’ll take the Ferrari because the glass doesn’t shatter when you close the door.

The Espada, it has fixed head lights.

I’ve driven an Espada and the 365's successor 365GTC and I’ll take the Lambo.

Actually I quite like the GT4 2+2, but compared with the Espada... there is no contest. Of course the Espada is more than anything an evolution of the Bertone-Jaguar Pirana one-off, but it also reminds me of the fabulous Marzal (all three by Gandini while at Bertone).

Sheer drama. Another unashamedly 60s car whose significance goes well beyond that of the car per se.

Excellent choice, although I don’t particularly like the front dam.

Who cares if it is unrealiable? That car is simply a gorgeous sculpture.

Of course, Gandini again.

I quite like the Jarama “as is”, but after reading a feature on the restoration of Wallace’s personal one (Arancio Corsa + satin black bonnet, with quite a few improvements by the man himself) the standard one just doesn’t seem to be quite enough.

Gorgeous. I don’t think the wheels in that picture are original, but they’re very cool. Here’s one for sale for a cool $185k.

... and I have never really liked them, particularly when they are so big as in the Bobcor Montreal. But that can be forgiven, because it is a Montreal and that is enough.

Thanks for your correction. You are right - in this case it is a spoiler and not a dam, I should have known better.

(By the way, that 3 litre in the Bobcor Montreal was also used in the more or less stillborn Alfetta GT V8, also called La Bomba for reasons more than obvious. It seems the bigger engine version had been developed specifically for speedboats.)

But the aesthetics are impossible, way too brutish.

The earlier DBS with Marek’s inline six was so much easier on the eye.

I think these have a perfect aesthetic. Just the right mix of elegant curves and strong muscles. I think it is one of their best designs.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

I mean look at the car!

But then you are talking to someone who believes the Vantage V600 Le Mans is also one of their best designs and I will own one someday

I still think that going from the four-headlamps grille to the “two + two” one made Town’s original design less graceful. Then they even put spats on it!

Have a look here at the early version:

http://www.simoncars.co.uk/aston/dbs.html

However, that is a personal opinion, so we can perfectly agree to disagree.

I still remember when people joked that the late 80s-90s Virage/Vantage series was a plus-size Calibra though...

Edited: *grile. Ouch.
Also there is one “still” too many, but that’s life.

Yeah I never cares for the 2 by 2 lamps on most cars for some reason. Plus there was always something off looking about the DBS. I think it may be the Barracuda type rear end with the oddly swooping down hood.

But yes, these are opinions.
